As President Donald Trump seeks to fix different problems within our political, economic and social sectors it is incumbent upon the followers of Christ to do everything we can to help him accomplish these objectives.
It is important to remember that the work of rebuilding and growing America strong again requires not just our President’s hard work and commitment, but ours too. His campaign promises are a very important part of his election campaign and were in many ways fashioned to bring unity to a very divided nation.
Love for one another and forgiveness for grievances serve to cause our fellow members of society to rally to God’s agenda for America. Let us keep these inherently good ideals firmly embedded in our daily lives so that we can stay the course toward a better life for all.
King Jehoshaphat’s example of leadership provides a great message for our nation today under this new era of President Trump. The choosing of good people to be judges, officials, advisors and administrators within our government can go a very long way in securing the overall long-lasting success of this Great Nation.
We should all consider carefully what we do and how these actions impact the way that God deals with America. To be a good leader in today’s world means that we should strive for becoming the kind of people that can truly be blessed in keeping with our very tangible choices and actions before God.
When we come face to face with God it is important to remember that it is us that must choose to correctly align ourselves with Him. So often in life we begin by asking God to be on our side when in reality that approach is the very opposite of what is necessary.
The same truth is apparent when Christians take sides along political lines. It should not matter to us whether someone is a Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent or any other political alliance. We should all be able to rally behind God’s choice as our leader and join forces together to accomplish whatever is needed to meet the enemies of our daily lives.
America’s political process is in many ways the best example of democracy and self-governance that this world has ever seen. Perhaps we need to get back to the roots of our Founding Father’s establishment of this rule of government so that we can accept each other’s differences while simultaneously working toward a better future for everyone.
